Price Changes: None Packaging Changes: The updated pricing page features changes in plan names, storage amounts, and file transfer limits, with some plans having reduced storage and transfer capabilities compared to the original.
ANALYSIS
Dropbox is refining its pricing strategy by updating plan names and offering more storage to the Standard plan.
The new plan names make a lot more sense and feel more aligned with the actual customer profiles .
Dropbox has always been a bit confusing: 4 plans on paper, but really just 2 for solo users and 2 for teams. For businesses, the old names (“Business” and “Business Plus”) didn’t communicate much. “Standard” and “Advanced” do a much better job of setting expectations.. and justifying that $9 price jump.
